Saturday Sunday Monday in December

Monday Dec 6
Today I woke up bright and early to go to my physio. The physiotherapist said I was doing better and they put more vibration pad thingies on my muscle, this time in *inner* knee area. I ate a granola bar this morning - because tgu had been saying that I should at least pop one of these in for breakfast. It definitely was a good jump start to my day - I didn't feel tired.

For lunch I packed some food that I made at Danny's the day before. Looks kinda dull but tasted pretty good. This is a corned beef and lettuce sandwich.

There was a bake sale at HESO today and Michelle, the VP bought me a cookie! So good.. this isa sugar cookie and the chocolate part tastes like chocolate.. haha..

After studying for sometime at the lib I decided I was too hungry to go on anymore.. and didn't want to spend anymore money (just saw my current visa statement - yikes!!!!!!!!!) Dinner was what I ate yesterday: some pork stomache stringies, gai lan and some boiled pork which was super tender!

I was still hungry. I contemplated on eating more rice and stuff with it but thought I'd change it up ..and instead ate some breakfast-y foods! I miss my pb + banana combo (too much banana as you can see) and I also chopped up and apple. Instead of pb I used almond butter. My bro opened the new one and keeps eating it.. so I used it today. (the old one is still the the fridge arrgg) I also chopped up a gala apple and ate it - no cinnamon :).

And now I'm off to study some more with the sister :).

Sunday Dec 5 - study, work, P L A Y
I started off the day at 10:50am and ate a bowl of cereal! I also added half a banana to this (unpictured).

I choose oatmeal crisp  - raisin. But honestly the triple berry flavour is the best!
After some errand running and studying @ the the milly library I made it to Danny's for my usual Sunday 3:30-6:30 shift. I usually eat some food there too. I ate a bowl tuna chowder that my mom made. Apparently it's really weird and no customer bought it LOL.. I thought it tasted good..kinda like canned tuna..

I also ate a HASHBROWN POUTINE. So so good. hashbrowns with mozza cheese topped with gravy...feel so guilty for eating this guy.. but tasted so good! But I don't eat this kinda thing everyday anyway!

Then made myself 1/2 a grilled cheese sandwich with ham. Butter + processed cheese + ham = heaven.

I went home and my mom insisted on eating dinner . . . so I ate with her (otherwise she'd eat alone! My dad was at work.) I ate very little.. small bowl of rice with these "dishes".

pork stomach stringies

boiled pork

chinese spinach soup

Saturday Dec 4 - happy birthday (party) to my brother!
Woke up bright and early this today, and left the house to see.. 6 police cars (you only see one in the pic) outside the sketchy house! I swear they are drug dealahz.

It was the HESO council thank you lunch today. We went to Mongo's Grill. Basically pick all your raw ingredients + meat + veggies + sauces from a food bar and throw it in a bowl while topping it as HIGH as you can and they stir fry it in front of your eyes. This was definitely a new experience for me. It was OK - like any other chow mein. My parents would probably say it's a rip off of Chinese food.
Probably could have added more sauce.
Starbucks with the sister followed afterwords. I had a latte with a shot of raspberry. The mocha raspberry tastes better haha. Goodbye $4!

Studied at The Forks for a good 3 hours. I ate this sugar cookie I found at Danny's.

I also ate 3 loonie pancakes for "pre-dinner" because I was hungrry.

Then it was birthday time! We went to BP. These are the appetizers I ate: a deep fried potato chip, pizza bread and a thai chicken bite (many of these actually..)

I also ate 2 slices (+ one slice later on it the night @ home) of pizza! This slice pictured here is the infamous perogy pizza. So so good and I'm starting to get used to spicy foods! This pizza also is SO BAD FOR YOU. So much fat and salt and calories!

My cousin and brother! Happy birthday! <3

And what' a birthday without some birthday cake? Chocolate + mousse = way to sweet!

December: the beginning

Friday, Dec 3
Today was a very long day! In a nutshell: physio > park > danny's > whole sale > school > drop off food > park cark > council pic > exam > office hour. Parking is important to include because it is such a pain to find and is time consuming...

For breakfast, I went to Danny's and had a bacon muffin. I was there to pick up some sandwich platters that I'd ordered for my faculty's student appreciation day.

After my exam, I ate a cup noodle purchased at the HESO office. It tasted like soap and I threw half of it away. Unimpressed.

I went home and ate this tiny pork stew thing my Dad made sometime yesterday with rice. It was salty and savoury - my two weaknesses for food!

After a long sleep (3 hours), I woke up feeling terrible! I ate these instant noodles. My mom asked if I wanted any and I agreed.. I wasn't even hungry!

My midnight snack is a cup of neocitron tea, a burger bun with almond butter and a chopped up persimmon..

I apologize for the short detail-less post but I should probably head to bed soon again..

The month of November was like a "treading water" month for me. Everything I've been doing is very last minute and sometimes I feel overwhelmed. This doesn't make much sense to me because my course load isn't that heavy..

For December I want to make attainable goals and keep tabs on how to keep track of them.. expect a meaty post tomorrow!

Thursday, Dec 2
Today I woke up early to study with an old friend! We had some yummy sushi for lunch @ UMI Sushi. The rolls are: spider, dynamite, chicken teriyaki, yam tempura and california!

Their tea set was so cute! It's much nicer than the ones at Kenko...

After volunteering at healthy start, I made my way to school an studied for awhile. These wer my tools for studying: a banana, toblerone and a clif bar (which I did not end up eating!)

And studying is not complete without  a Starbucks fix! I tried a new tea: vanilla booirbon. It tasted vanilla-y. I would definitely try it again :).

And ended up @ Mcdonalds with Cindy and Phil. Oh dear. I ate a cheeseburger and some of these fries..

Wednesday, Dec 1
I can' believe it's already December. Time really does fly. I still feel like I was getting used to writing November on the top  my note pages.

I skip breakfast often because now I get a ride downtown with my sister and chill at second cup for awhile before heading on the bus to class. This way I'm not late for class..the only downside is I NEVER have time to eat breakfast! I need to wake up earlier than 8:00am =(.

Anyway, this morning I had a yummy french vanilla coffee! Bus was late and ended up being late for class.. I need the beginning of today's food prep notes still!

Lunch was a microwaved hearty entree. This one didn't taste nearly as bad as the really sour one! I managed to finish most of it. The rice in these "western asian" entrees is like Uncle Ben's rice: very hard.  That stuff takes awhile to get used to.

I came home after my last foods lab of the year! Today we made meringue cookies, and a dish called STRATA. It's basically mozza cheese, bread, and veggies baked in a pan. I tasted super good. I would totally make this dish at home. The only real downside is you require 500g of cheese - a fairly huge block!

Today is my Dad's last sick day before going back to work. He made a yummy dinner! Gai-lan with oyster sauce and some home-made bbq'd pork! I made sure not to eat the pork fat.

I also had some sweet soup (tong suy). There were some medicinal-esque beans in there and a whole boiled egg. =S That was weird! I took it out and didn't eat it... I made fun of my dad for putting weird savory stuff in a dessert soup!

I studied with my sis @ her work. We later went to walmart and I *GUILT* picked up chocolate, crackers and chippies...oh dear. Be prepared to see a lot of junk food in the coming posts...

End of November

Tuesday, Nov 30
I woke up bright an early to go for a very relaxing (and expensive!) spa morning! The masseuse massaged my upper back for 50 minutes! I spent an hour and a half lounging about the spa area reading magazines, drinking tea and eating some cookies and muffins! There were these really cool "rain" showers; basically shower heads coming from the ceiling and an herbal sauna room. Honestly it was such a good experience :).

After I had a date with x-tine and Tuan. We went to Sushi Gen. Did I mention that their sushi is DISGUSTING? I don't know why I suggested to go there. They press their rice way too hard against the nori and it tastes super bland. Blah. I had a yam tempura roll (ew) and an unagi roll (too sweet!). I couldn't finish it because it tasted so gross.. Christine finished it for me. Very very unimpressed! However, I did find the salad very good!

Then I went to starbucks and spent more money! I had a super fattening peppermint mocha latte and they were VERY generous on the whipped cream. I didn't mind. HA.

A creepy guy kept staring at me at Starbucks and it was pretty drafty too. I migrated to the downtown library! I bought myself (haha) a london fog from the Human Bean and ate one of the cookies I "borrowed" from the spa >=D.

I got tired of the library (4 hours there!) and went home. My parents wanted to go to Golden Terrace (formerly Marigold) and so that's where I ate. I was super full after all those yummy dishes..

There was more dishes but I got too lazy to take pix of them...

Monday, Nov 29
Breakfast was skipped today. Instead brunch was eaten in class. I had a turkey sandwich with tomatoes, mayo. turkey breast and looks like there a some bacon in it too.

In my food and culture class there was a presentation on Russia and so they serve some Russian goodies! There was crepe made with ..buckwheat?, a piece of bread and some cold salad.

Dinner was sooo yummilicous. I went home and took the longest nap ever and then proceeded to wake up 10PM and eat dinner: steak, asparagus and rice! I ate it all.

Sunday, Nov 28  - take a break day
Less work = a happy Linda. I booked off work til the 14th of Dec! More time for studying = optimal. As you can see my desire to eat healthful foods have been thrown out the window. I honestly just eat whatever is there now. And I am definitely gaining weight because of this.

Things that I ate while studying at Brodie: left over pizza, a huge skor candy apple (from cindy), chips (Dad bought massive bag of chips) , some more toblerone chocolate.

Dinner was unpictured and consisted of some of xtine's chips, jer's cinnamon bun ..and other various thing that found it's way to my mouth....

Saturday, Nov 27 - Malcolm's Birthday
Today was Malcolm's birthday party! I started off the day waking up pretty late - 12pm which is excusable since I slept really late. I drove my dad to Danny's so that I'd have the car to go to work for 6PM that day.

At Danny's I ate this delicious looking breakfast wrap. It actually kind of tasted land,  and was too hot. I think it needed some cheese in it.

I tried to study for awhile at the library; it didn't go super well. I ate some toblerone and a tim horton's small hot chocolate. I gave up trying to study and it was almost time for work.  But surprise! When I got there the server's said it was really slow and I could go home really early if I wanted. (they know that I wanted to leave early for a birthday party). They even suggested that I didn't have to clock in if I didn't want to.. and I took up that offer and was home within 15 minutes! Sweeet!

I got home thinking ..YES more time to study! However...that was a big fail. I ended up watching a bunch of tv,  dawling and going to the mall =D. There was an event at The Bay. It was a make-up gala celebration so I bought a ticket ($10) and had a glass of wine. Yum.

At Malcolm's party I had a bunch of unpictured things.. such as alcohol and some noodles. =S Probably around 600 calories worth of stuff..

Stopped by Tim's during the night and had another cup of HC. Not a good day regarding nutritious food intake..

Friday, Nov 26 - barely alive
Breakfast was most liley non-existent on this Friday. Probably not good because I had an exam in the morning - which went OK. Lunch was a disgusting hearty bowl entree from the frozen aisle. I could barely eat half of it. I found it way to sour!

I bought a bar of rice krispie @ the student heso office to make up for it. Yummy.

During my food culture class, there was a pesentation on some Ukraine. I ate this plate of cookie, beets - sorta, couscous and perogy w/ sour cream!

I studied with flap for awhile and decided it was no use and I should head home. When I got home, there was a delicious bowl of pho to warm my tummy! So good. I ate it and proceeded to take a nap however ended up taking care of some *drunken* friends until 3 in the morning.. no good!

Thurs, Nov 25 - cram for exam
I woke up pretty early (9am for a non-school day!) and was craving a bowl of cereal. I decided to eat corn pops. Got tired and went to sleep at 10:30 and woke up abruptuly at 12:30 thinking OH SH** gonna be late for volunteering!

By that time, it was lunch hour I was starving but I didn't really have time to eat. I was rushing to get ready for volunteering when my dad made me stop and eat and bowl of mushroom soup (with rice) with sicilian meat balls. Glad I did because it really hit the spot and subsided my hunger for awhile.

At volunteering we made bean burritos again. It was super snowy out and so traffic really was annoying! It took me nearly an hour to get home (vs 20ish minutes to get there).

When I made it home I ate a bowl of rice and spicy shrimp (no recollection of this) ... then I was super tired so I took a nap. I woke up and ate dinner with the fam (really small bowl of rice with gailan, unpictured) for about 2 minutes because my brother killed my appetite.

Then I drove to second cup to study. I needed to get out.. but it closed so I migrated to tim hortons. Then it was 1am and I went home. I studied until 4AM for my midterm the next day. I ate about half this bar of tolblerone during the night and a lot of coffee and latte.

Egg Nog Latte

hot chocolate and water

Wed, Nov 24th - Long Work Day
I guess I skipped breakfast on this day since there is no picture to be found. For lunch I had the leftover's from last night - the chicken, and boiled broccoli with rice. Also had and some 25 cent pudding that was on sale at the council office.

Today was a super long day because I had class + lab from 10:30-5:30 (with a one hour break) and work at Kenko from 6:15 - 10:00pm.

At Kenko I had some delicious crab soup with tofu. I love Emo's (aunty in Korean) cooking.

That's probably why I'd stopped blogging for awhile.. way too exhausted when I got home from work.

I actually didn't make it home until about 12:00am because I had to take the bus and waited around for my SISTER who took forever to leave her work DT.. anyway I was super grumpy ..! No food fo dinner on this day I guess..
downtown at 10:30. It's sorta busy!

Tues, Nov 23rd - Unproductive mess
I decided the last tuesday that I'd eat some instant oatmeal for breakfast. After all that work a couple months ago making some REAL oatmeal, I decided that it wasn't worth all the trouble.. However, I fund oatmeal was too hot and I was too hungry...that didn't go down well.

Then I ate some healthy salad for lunch as well as some kimchi dumplings that I boiled.. Unpictured is a chicken hot dog that I also boiled. (guilt) I was craving everything! I also ate some pasta+canned mushroom soup+peas+broccoli that I made afterwards..

Linda's typical spinach salad!

kimchi dumplings

mushroom soup pasta w/ peas and broccoli

My ankle was still pretty rough looking from when I sprained it on Nov 23rd but still OK to do daily stuff..

I remember that this tuesday was mostly an unproductive day. Lounged around the house until about 4:30 and took me an HOUR's drive to get to school. It was rush hour so I should have known better. =.= .

After my mtg, I drove to Xtine's work and studied there for awhile. Some turtle chocolate made it's way into my mouth as well as some of Xtine's left over sushi which tasted kind of awful.  I definitely ate it just because it was there... I wasn't that hungry!

When I got home there was food already made :D. I ate pan fried chicken, sweet and spicy shrimp and boiled broccoli with rice. It was soo savoury and delish. I packed some left overs for lunch.
